Insuladd® paint additive and Insuladd® pre-mixed house paints are now available to provide energy savings thanks to the research of the NASA technology exchange program. The INSULADD® technology is the virtually the same as the technology successfully used by the Space Shuttle program to help keep heat out of spacecraft when they re-enter the earth's atmosphere. INSULADD® works by blocking heat flow through a surface that has been painted. This will reduce energy costs because Insuladd® prevents heats from escaping your home in the winter and blocks heat from entering during the summer.

Different surfaces absorb paint at different rates and may require more or less paint than indicated. This estimate is based on one gallon covering 350 feet of surface area that has had no primer applied, and one gallon of paint covering 400 feet of surface area that has had primer applied.
